ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
At Hebe Aesthetics, we specialise in subtle, natural enhancements that restore confidence and soften signs of ageing. One of our most sought-after treatments is anti-wrinkle injections, using botulinum toxin, a prescription-only medicine that temporarily relaxes specific facial muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
This clinically proven treatment is ideal for individuals looking to smooth expression lines and achieve a fresher, more rested appearance.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections: How They Work, What to Expect & Aftercare
Botulinum toxin works by blocking the nerve signals to the targeted muscles, which in turn prevents them from contracting. As the muscles relax, the skin appears smoother and lines become less noticeable. This treatment is particularly effective for:
• Frown lines (between the eyebrows)
• Forehead lines
• Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
You can expect to start seeing results within 3–5 days, with the full effect typically visible after 10–14 days. The results usually last around 3 to 4 months, although this can vary depending on the individual.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
1. Prescribing Consultation
As a qualified nurse prescriber, I will carry out a full face-to-face consultation before any treatment. This is a legal requirement, as botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine and must be assessed for clinical suitability.
During this consultation, we will discuss:
• Your medical history
• Areas of concern
• Realistic outcomes
• Possible risks or side effects
Only after this assessment—and if you’re deemed suitable—can the treatment be prescribed and carried out.
2. The Procedure
• The treatment is quick and comfortable, usually lasting 15–30 minutes.
• A very fine needle is used to administer small amounts of botulinum toxin into specific facial muscles.
• Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratch or tiny sting.
There is minimal downtime, and you can usually return to daily activities straight away.
Pre-Treatment Advice
To ensure the safest and most effective outcome:
• Avoid alcohol, aspirin, and anti-inflammatory medication (like ibuprofen) for 24 hours before your appointment to minimise bruising.
• Please arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
• Inform me of any health conditions, medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as you will not be eligible for treatment in these cases.
Post-Treatment Aftercare
For optimal results and to reduce the risk of complications:
• Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
• Stay upright for 4 hours post-treatment.
• Avoid exercise, saunas, sunbeds, and hot showers for 24 hours.
• Refrain from having facials or aesthetic treatments on the area for 2 weeks.
Results will gradually develop over 3–14 days, and if needed, a review appointment can be scheduled for refinement.

ANTI-WRINKLE FAQs
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a non-surgical treatment that uses botulinum toxin, a prescription-only medicine, to relax specific facial muscles and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment is commonly used on areas such as the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet.
Is Botox®️ the same as anti-wrinkle injections?
Botox®️ is a brand name for a type of botulinum toxin. It is one of several licensed products used in anti-wrinkle treatments. Other brands include Azzalure®️, Bocouture®️, and Dysport®️. These products all contain botulinum toxin type A and work in a similar way, but may differ slightly in formulation or diffusion. At Hebe Aesthetics, a specific product will only be prescribed after a thorough medical consultation.
Can I book a Botox treatment directly?
Botox (and all botulinum toxin products) are prescription-only medicines (POMs). This means they cannot be advertised or offered for sale directly to the public. At Hebe Aesthetics, any treatment involving botulinum toxin is only carried out following a face-to-face consultation and medical assessment with me, as a qualified nurse prescriber. If appropriate, a prescription will be issued, and we can then proceed with treatment.
How does botulinum toxin work?
Botulinum toxin works by temporarily blocking the signals between nerves and muscles, preventing muscle contraction. This allows the skin to appear smoother and can soften lines caused by repetitive facial movements. The effect usually begins within 3–5 days, with full results visible around 10–14 days, lasting approximately 3–4 months.
Is botulinum toxin safe?
When administered by a qualified medical professional, botulinum toxin treatments are considered safe and well-established. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, which will be fully discussed with you during your consultation. I draw on over 15 years of nursing experience to ensure your treatment is both safe and appropriate
How do I know if I’m suitable for anti-wrinkle injections?
Suitability can only be determined following a detailed medical consultation. Factors such as your health history, current medications, and desired outcomes will all be considered. This ensures that the treatment is clinically appropriate and in your best interest.
⚠️ Important Note
Botulinum toxin products such as Botox®️ are regulated prescription medicines. In line with UK law, they cannot be advertised or promoted to the public. All treatments offered at Hebe Aesthetics are subject to a full consultation and prescription, and will only be provided where medically appropriate.
